Vacation and Maintaining

Vacation, Vacation, Vacation!!!!!
I just recently returned from a WONDERFUL 6 day 5 night vacation in Miami/South Beach with my hubby and great friends of ours. We had tons of fun, ate lots of great food and drank sooooo many yummy alcoholic drinks (I will post a few pics below). Can we say calories galore! Although I made a few healthy choices while vacationing I still enjoyed myself and indulged in some tasty treats! I was so self-conscious about not over doing it and bring back 5 lbs that I worked so hard to get off. My  friend and I did manage to get in 2 good workouts. We also did a bit of walking and sight seeing so I guess that can account for some cardio:) I couldn't wait to get home to get on the scale. I was ecstatic when I did weigh myself and only gain 2 lbs (thinking water weight) and those 2 lbs are gone again!!! I am currently at a 28 lb weight loss! AHHHHHH-so happy and proud of myself! My goal is to loose 30 more lbs with 15-20lbs by my birthday in September.

"The FINAL Click"

I was asked this past weekend..."what made it click for me"....and I can say I honestly don't know. It was a number of things but mainly it was just way pass due. If I had a dime for every time I said I was going to start a diet, I've had enough of being overweight or anything to do with eating right and exercising....I would have me a bad pair of red bottoms!! I do know that after my mom went into the hospital for what I think was the third time in a matter of 2 years for heart problems. I realized how much medicine she was taking and for sooooo many different things. I told myself then that enough was enough and there was no way I was going to have to carry a large bag around full of medicines with me.

It is definitely a daily struggle for me, but what has made it much easier is having positive people around me who are on a journey of their own. Someone to encourage you to eat healthy and workout. My friends around me don't realize how much they have encouraged me to keep going. After starting this blog, I stop posting due to time constraints and the fact that I honestly felt like I was boring the world and no one was really reading my post. I later started a Facebook group (My Journey Back to Me(Us)) which has since then became Our Journey Back to Us. Through that Facebook group I realized the magnitude of a what simple post could do! So many people have told me how I have motivated them and encourage them to continue or even to start on their own personal journey! Such a great feeling knowing someone else has benefited from something you said or did:) Now not only do I have myself holding me accountable but I have over 130 other individuals doing the same...and sometimes that just what you need!

I am excited about my journey and that of so many others! Can't wait to see the end results:)

Guess who's bizack...yep I AM BACK!

I know, I know, I know!!!!

I don't even want to hear it! This blogging thing is a full time job....I don't see how people do this on a daily, hourly, heck even weekly basis. I am however going to put forth more of an effort this time around!  
So let's see, it's been almost a full year since I last updated. What better time to do an update, Monday, July 1st! The start of a new week and new month which means new goals and new challenges. Although I haven't blogged since around this time last year doesn't mean I haven't been still on my journey back. I am eating better than ever before (a few slips), drinking lots of water, and working out. My weight hasn't changed much which is very discouraging but my clothes continue to fit differently and I constantly get the "your losing weight" from co-workers and friends. I leave for a mini vacation in 16 days and I don't feel like I have accomplished the goal I set for myself to lose and tone more before we leave. But hey 16 days is plenty of time to get something accomplished, even if it is only 1 pound, that I one less pound that I will need to carry around with me!

SO WHAT IS YOUR JULY GOAL? 
Today is the 1st of the month and the start of a new week....if you are at all like me I always wait until the start of a new week or month to start a goal. So what better day than TODAY!! 
 

GOAL #1- Lose 5-7lbs before heading on vacation (and not bring it back with me)
GOAL #2- Stick to a good workout plan and continue eating as clean as possible
GOAL #3- PUSH HARDER


I know I can do this, it is as simple as putting my mind to it and doing it! I can't quit when the scale doesn't move after the first day. I have done that more times than I can count.

So yes it is July 1, 2013 and I am back to blogging and back to being serious about MY JOURNEY BACK TO ME!
